I’ve been in business for 8 years, making good money but by no means substantial (talking about over $100M level).
I gradually realized that this book (to be more accurate the wisdom in this book) contained the real secret to our success, but this secret had to be clearly explained to us by someone, otherwise it is too hard to comprehend because it is ancient text.
Even so, by reading the book alone we only reach 5–10% learning efficiency. Hence I’m doing an intensive to break down the wisdom further (each week we dive into 1 — in a 10-mins audio that you can listen anywhere in your convenience, and a PDF you can read and study better). Free preview available here.
Here’s an example:
Most businesspeople think that material wealth and spiritual wealth is mutually exclusive.
Generally, entrepreneurs or company owners (like myself) would be primarily concern about profits and how to increase efficiency to make money faster 😂
While people with spiritual pursuits spend their days meditating, talking about the soul and spirit, and are dismissive of material things.
Material and spiritual seem to be opposites.
Either we choose the higher realm of spiritual world, we either choose the material world.
It seems like they have no connection points and are conflicting things. But Geshe Michael said that he received teachings from his teacher, Ken Rinpoche, which overturned this perception.
Here’s what Ken taught:
achieving success and wealth is also useful for spiritual wealth because if we have a lot of resources, we can help many people do more good around the world.
Geshe Michael’s teacher said that a more successful businessman would engage in spiritual practice, such as meditation and reading the ancient wisdom classic Diamond Sutra.
These will not only not make him lose money, but can help him make more money and make money happily.
Likewise, does a person with spiritual pursuits have to be a poor person? This also makes no sense.
He should achieve greater success, possess more wealth, and become a person who is both spiritually and financially rich. Because if this is the case, he can help more people and influence more people.
This idea is that internally, such person would be a pure inner self, a peaceful and happy soul, with powerful wisdom.
Externally, it shows up to the world as an influential, successful, powerful person who can help others.
So they are not contradictory and can even be completely closely integrated.
All this wisdom on how to combine material and spirit and achieve success in both aspects can be found in the Diamond Sutra.
Therefore, when Geshe Michael decided to return to New York, USA to do diamond business, his teacher asked him to use the Diamond Sutra as his business plan.
Later on, Geshe Michael achieved commercial success, and his diamond company with an annual turnover of US$250 million was acquired by Warren Buffett.
Geshe Michael entered the temple to study right after he graduated from university. None of his family had no business background. The only basis he replied on is the Diamond Sutra.
So, the Diamond Sutra contains all the real secrets for our success, but these secrets are so deep that we cannot understand them without the guidance of a teacher.
When Geshe Michael was in the diamond business, whenever he encountered questions, when he was confused and didn’t know what to do, he would go back to the temple to ask his teacher. The teacher would open the Diamond Sutra, turn to the relevant content, and tell him to use this to do marketing, use this to do human resources, use this to manage finances, and use this to coordinate various interpersonal relationships.
All the wisdom is in the Diamond Sutra, but ordinary people like us cannot understand such an ancient classic.
To achieve success, we need the guidance and help of teachers. Hence this intensives where I would break down the concepts in this book so you can use the wisdom to navigate life and solve specific problems. All the teachings I included in this program is directly from Geshe Michael or his students.
To your success,
Connie
