Thinking too much and doing too little? Dealing with Procrastination

One of the key question in life is: How to Achieve Whatever You Set Your Mind To?

I realised that many people express the desires to do something but then feel that their abilities are limited or their time limited, or other form of inadequacy, or fearing failure.

Regardless of what the reasons are, they ended up not able to do what they want to.

In other words, they think too much and do too little.

So, let’s discuss the mindset needed to succeed. How to control our mind so that we can think less and do more to achieve whatever we set our mind to?

One common approach is the Target Elimination mindset.

where a person continuously thinks about an idea until they ultimately decide not to pursue it.

These individuals are known for eliminating their goals.

On the other hand, we have the Goal Achievement mindset,

where a person sets a target and takes direct action or finds ways to reach it.

This mindset belongs to those who focus on completing their goals.

Let’s look at the example of the Target Elimination mindset. I wanted to pursue this idea of starting a YouTube channel but assessed my present conditions.

I may not be very good-looking, but I have years of experience in the consulting industry, as well as knowledge in business, investing, and learning.

However, I lacked the knowledge in filming, editing, and scriptwriting.

Many doubts clouded my mind, and I continued to think about my weaknesses.

Eventually, I said, “Forget it, I’m already too busy with my company. Why am I bothering with this?” Thus, I abandoned the goal.

However, if I had approached that target with a Goal Achievement mindset, the result would have been completely different

When I wanted to start as a content creator with goal achievement mindset, I set a goal of gaining 10,000 followers within a year.

Then, I analyzed my strengths and weaknesses.

I sought advice from experienced bloggers, learned video editing by searching online, and read books and videos on how to start being a content creator and youtuber .

I researched the demands and interests of my audience and formed an outline.

I controlled the length of my videos and focused on delivering key points.

I practiced and adjusted my expressions in front of the mirror.

Learning from feedback, both from the comments section and people around me, I refined my content.

Some advised me to speak more concisely, while others suggested that I address specific topics like money making.

Not only have I gained followers, but the feedback from my audience has helped me better understand myself.

To share more valuable content, I have actively sought knowledge to improve my communication skills and built a network. This marks another iteration and upgrade in my life.

Remember, these two mindsets lead to completely opposite results.

One mindset restrains our future path by focusing on past limitations, while the other mindset breaks through and creates the future we desire.

In the course of “Learning how to learn in a way that makes money” I introduce the best way to set a goal or mission.

How you set the goal or mission will determine how likely it gets achieved.

Let’s not wait for the perfect moment to start because it will never come.

You create the perfect moment by taking action.

Even the most successful athletes started from scratch in their respective fields. Mark Z did not wait for the existence of platforms like Facebook before starting his entrepreneurial journey, right?

If you lack the conditions, create them and achieve your goals.

This is what makes the entire process fascinating.

When you have decided that it’s a goal worth pursuing, roll up your sleeves, just go for it.

Remember this: Where you invest your time is where your future lies.
