Sales copy that sells for you
In the world of overwhelmed advertisements, the power of words is undeniable.
A well-crafted sales copy can turn a potential customer into a loyal buyer, but only if it’s done right.
The challenge lies in making your copy simple but effective (translate: highlighting your unique value, and making it resonate with your audience on a personal level so they want to buy from you).
In this post, I’ll explore how to create sales copy that sells
Part 1 The Simplified principle
Part 2 Unveiling Your Unique Value
Part 3: Adding Personality to Your Copy
To jump start, I’ve also prepared a checklist for Easeful, profitable sales here for you to download.
Pls enjoy~
Part 1
The Simplified principle
Those of you who know me knows that my framework is “simplified, sustainable, soulful”.
So the first principle is simplified.
The first rule of effective sales copy that sells is to keep it simple.
There is immense power in simplicity.
Less is more.
Complex jargon and lengthy explanations can confuse and alienate your audience.
Instead, focus on clarity and conciseness.
I’ll give you a formula to start with here:
called the “So That” formula To ensure your copy is simple and focused, put it through the “so that” test.
For every feature you mention, ask “so that?”
The answer should directly relate to a benefit the customer will receive.
For example,
if you’re selling a water bottle, “It’s made of stainless steel”
when you put it through the “so that” test:
it becomes “It’s made of stainless steel so that it won’t leak or break easily.”
There…. a lot better right?
Customers don’t care what it’s made of, but they certainly care if it would leak easily right?
There are other formula I share in the yearly mastermind — where we work together in a yaer to create a life you want supported by the business.
Part 2
Unveiling Your Unique Value
In a crowded market, standing out is crucial.
Your sales copy should clearly communicate the unique value you offer.
Here’s how to do it
#1
Identify Your Unique Selling Points (USPs)
What sets you apart from the competition?
Is it your product’s quality, your service, or your innovative approach?
#2
Know Your Audience
Understand their needs, desires, and pain points. This will help you tailor your USPs to resonate with them.
#3
Show, Don’t Tell
Instead of merely stating your USPs, demonstrate them through stories, testimonials, or case studies.
Part 3:
Adding Personality to Your Copy
The problem and the result might be common, but your process and the way you communicate it can be uniquely yours.
Here’s how to infuse personality into your sales copy
Let your brand’s voice shine through.
Be genuine and let your passion for what you do come across in your writing.
Stories are memorable and relatable. Share stories of how your product or service has made a difference.
If it fits your brand, humor can make your copy more engaging and memorable.
My Personal Approach to Infusing Personality
To ensure my copy sounds like me talking directly to the reader, I use a voice dictation method.
Here’s my process:
- Voice Dictation: I think about what I want to convey and then voice dictate it into my iPhone. This captures the natural flow of speech.
- Edit and Refine: After dictating, I transcribe the audio and edit the text to ensure it’s clear and concise while still sounding like a conversation.
- Read Aloud: I read the copy aloud to check if it flows naturally and sounds like me talking to a friend.
Overall, to sum up — keeping it simple, highlighting your unique value, and infusing your copy with personality, you can craft sales copy that not only sells but also builds lasting relationships with your customers.
