Keep jumping from one thing to another?

Hi Medium fam,

Just helped someone with shiny object syndrome (i had that before too 🤣🤣🤣, anyone else? )

In her own words

"I've been trying to build something for myself, but I feel like I keep jumping from one thing to another before I really see how it could turn out. I'm hoping to find something that's fulfilling and makes good money, but it's like I can't stop second-guessing myself.

Here's the pattern I keep finding myself in: 1.I see someone else succeeding in a certain area, and I think it's more realistic or achievable than what I'm currently doing. 2. I start worrying that my current project might be a "pipe dream" and I'll just fail if I keep at it, so I think I should switch to something more feasible."

Does this resonates?

She has tried a bunch of businesses:

• Writing and publishing a self-help book

• Selling on TikTok Shop for a bit

Selling on eBay

• Creating content on social

Etc.

Shiny object syndrome SOS is a continual state of distraction brought on by an ongoing belief that there is something new worth pursuing.

I had it too before.

That explains why she jumps from one thing to another and the pattern.

If that's you as well:

👉🏻 The main reason (and also antidote) for SOS is because you are not making real money, and no paying clients.

If you have paying clients, you have someone to keep you responsible and you gotta keep working at it.

So I'd say all the things you tried are not wasted -- at least you know which one you enjoy more, or less.

Now you can choose one, and focus on getting the 1st paid client, from there you will continue to build momentum forward.

Lmk if i can help further.

If you want to know how i get clients at the beginnings so you can do the same to get out of the pattern, lmk in chat.

to your success,

Connie
