For the past 6 months I have been applying positions in the financial services and banking industry. I have no luck at all. Whats wrong with me ?
This is a Real case study from one of my resume + interview coaching client, she found a 5 figure job in month 3 we worked together (and landed another 40% increment offer in just 1 year after) by following the tips shared below.
Sharing the tips with you in case it helps / inspires.
Hey, I always landed multiple good offers and found jobs easily. Never sent more than 20 resumes to find a job. And always get more than 20%-40% increment in salary. I used to be a resume and interview coach before.
So A few tips:
- I would focus on the transferable skills that i learnt in the things i did in previous role rather than just description for what i did
- I move the experience ahead of edication, employers value people who have relevant work experience rather than edu really, edu is basic requirement that gets you through the door but dont add value (HR confirmed)
- Im not sure what jobs you’re applying for, one of the reasons you don’t get any feedback could be because the job doesnt match your experience (or so the HR thinks), so when you apply for jobs, spend 2 mins really read through the JD, see if you are a fit, Check whether what the job looks for skills that you have, tasks that you can handle, before applying. Don’t just see the title of job and click apply.
Let me know if you want more help to land good offers. I used to help people “scale” their job to high 6 fig, and myself is making high 6 fig in my job from just $20,000 starting out.
Hope it helps
P.S. Do you want to build a side business that replaces 9–5 salary in a matter of months as well? I know the way to do it, speak with me whenever you’re ready so that I can get to know you more and help you come up with a realistic idea and plan step by step how to do that exactly
