This article shares about how start writing and putting myself out there on the internet has completely changed my life and how it can do the same for you.

I will update this post when I have new important learnings and tips to share on making money writing online, if you want to receive updates pls subscribe.

If you’re new here. My name is Connie . I’m a lawyer and creator of profitable learner program . And around 2 years ago I made the plunge to putting myself out there and started writing.
Since my first year of university, I knew I wanted to start some kind of blog.
I spent $7999 on a blogging course and $3000 to have a WordPress blog set up.
I knew I wanted to start writing on the internet but I had all these fear around it.
It was things like,
" what the hell am I going to write about?
why would anyone read my writing?
if my friends and family discovered that i’ve got a blog that i’ve been writing online and they’re gonna make fun of me
If my employer discover that I am writing online, they’re gonna think I’m not doing a good job.
And there was nothing that I was going to produce that was original and very good. Everything already exists out there.
Plus there was perfectionism. I wanted to build the perfect blog and write the best valuable article.”
I had all these above fears in my mind and for something like four or five years stopped me from putting myself out there online.
I had done something in secret but it was nothing consistent.
The fear stopped me from really committing into creating and sharing in public.

I’m going to be really honest with you in this article and share my 3 most important tips on the journey from those fears to being able to open myself and create in public.

1 record
Now if you imagine, for example, if you’re reading my articles ans subscribed to my blog, you’re probably interested in the behind the scenes.
What it’s like being a writer online, how much time needed, how much money I make, how to get started.
And therefore if I were to write about my journey on my blog, do a little diary type thing where I’m, what I’m doing, how I do the work.
And this is the thought process and the resources that I made reference to get to the finished creation, so that anyone interested would get some behind the scene tips to follow the steps.
That’s actually quite interesting.
In the past when information is not that transparent. It would be like a writer would go into the cave and come out with a book.
But there are people who want to know how to create a book, or make a movie, or edit a video, or start a business etc.
And so really starting a blog is not about having to come up with "I need to write something interesting or auper valuable".
It’s actually just about documenting the stuff that you’re doing, what you’ve learnt today.
Now I was a legal student at the time.
And so I could have documented the books that I was reading in books about them in writing.
I wish I had just been writing reviews of books that i’ve read.
I first read extensively 7 years ago, but I don’t know what my thoughts and feelings were, because I just didn’t document them until last 2 years.
Creation may not be about something new, it could be just recording your days, learning and growth.

2 permission
I’m not an expert on anything.
Therefore, how can I possibly write about it?
It takes me many years to come around and give myself the permission that you don’t need to be an expert to share your process and to document your work to show how you’re learning stuff and growing.
You can completely embrace the beginners mindset.
And we only need to start documenting the stuff that we are learning.
E.g here are some tips I found helpful for me. If you find them helpful, maybe you will enjoy reading the article .
Someone who is a beginner is often so much better at teaching other people who are beginners than someone who’s an expert.
If you’re thinking of getting started and not, you might be interested be recording, how is it total beginner approaching this?
And what does the progression look like from absolutely knowing nothing towards being able to build something up.

3 how others think
The other big worry that I had was that what will one of my friends and family is going to think if I start writing and showing my work publicly.
Like we all think that other people are looking at us and judging us.
But actually everyone is worried about their own life.
No one cares.
Think about it. In a group photo, who would you look at first?
Yourself, right?

And looking from this from a bystander point of view :
Let’s say a cousin or brother and they’re thinking, " I want to learn cooking . And I’m gonna write about my journey of trying to learn cooking online . Would you really judge them for that?"
You probably wouldn’t be like, "oh, that’s kinda cool!"
You wouldn’t criticize them. You wouldn’t judge them. You don’t think they are freaks for creating and punlishing to online, you would think, "oh, that’s kind of cool. It’s cool that you’re documenting your journey."

The benefits of output publicly
1 spread of message
The way you want to imagine it is imagine you are living in a village.
The only people you interact with all the other people in your village.
And occasionally a train comes by and someone visits the village and you can have a chat to them and stuff.
But you’re really limiting the amount of people you could possibly have connections with personally.
Now imagine if you create some robots and share an idea by putting your ideas on to the internet, which means that little robots carry your ideas and they all spread your message to all around the world.
And then there’s people who are from Malaysia, from Algeria, who are scrolling the internet.
And they want to learn about what it is that you have written about or created about.
And when you’re sleeping, when you’re out playing tennis with your friends, when you’re on a walk in the park, you pay no charge and those robots are like little carrier pigeons - Delivering your ideas to people all over the world day and night.
Once the robots work for you. They deliver your ideas around.
Serendipity happens.
People reach out to you and give you money.
They want to exchange information with you.
They want to learn from you.
They want to follow you to see how you will grow
This may be life outside of your imagination.
And you may have dreamed it before.
When you put your ideas into the world, you’re allowing yourself to be known, you’re opening yourself up to get all of these really interesting connections.
You might make friends, you might make business connections, you might even meet the person you marry out there on the internet, and you’re opening up yourself to the entire world.

2 clarity
Writing changed my life in helping me to get clarity over my own thoughts.
And I realized this back in 2019 when I was feeling very down and frustrated in my trainee job that time.
I had all these thoughts and feelings around this and feeling sad and feeling annoyed.
I had a real crisis of thinking like what the hell am I doing with my life? What am I doing with this job?
And I spent ages thinking about this.
But it was only when I actually wrote about it about this that helped me solidify and clarify my own thinking around it.

With writing - it’s not that you have something to say.
Rather, you find out what you have to say.
So writing every day is just that - write about everything you think about and learn that day.
I figure out what I’m saying with writing.
Writing is actually not just a way of communicating with the world.
It’s actually a way of communicating with yourself because the simple act of sitting down in front of a keyboard or notebook for 45 minutes or an hour.
Whatever it is, you are creating space in the day for you to come to connect with what’s going on in life, and what is it that I really feel? What is it that I really think about certain topics.

3 Profits
The butterfly effect:
the butterfly effect is this idea that if a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil than a current produced by that, further down the line can cause a chain reaction that produces a tornado.
It is the idea that like a seemingly small thing that you do can have a huge effect further down the line.
The baby steps to write a few blog posts has me stumbled across starting an online business.
And from there, I have been making 6 fugures.
If I had surrender to my fear and didn’t get started at all, I would have been a completely different person today and not the Connie sharing profitable learning tips and others great life changing tools with you.

How to get started?
1 start with free
How do you do Free website?
There are many websites that allow yoy to start a blog for free and social media platforms you can use for free.
That s the best place for anyone to start because there is no immediate pressure to monetise, which helps us to focus on creation mentality.

2 find a niche
Start by picking a niche to write about.
The niche topics honestly are the ones that are going to give you easier traction and feedback at the beginning stage.
So, start with the smallest thing that you possibly can start with writing about whatever interests you have.

3 record, record, record
You can just document your work, read, show your work, document your process, document your learning stuff.
Just put your work and content out there without worrying about the algorithm.
Time will tell you what your audience like - they vote with their subscription and time spent on your content.

Starting could be relatively easy and it gets harded to follow through and be consistent.

May you find your creation journey fruitful,
Connie
