6 Stages to Build and Scale to 6 figure Business
Hi Medium fam,
Ever wondering where you are on the entrepreneur journey?
And wonder what the next stage looks like?
Today, I’m unveiling the comprehensive map to building a 6-figure business.
This 6-step guide is designed to take you from the ground floor to the pinnacle of success.
And if you’re in stages 1–4, the yearly mastermind — business stream would help you to scale.
Let’s dive into the strategic map.
Stage 1: Plan
The first step in building a 6-fig business is laying a solid foundation through planning.
Kinda need to have a map before we go on any trip / journey right?
This involves creating a plan that outlines your business’s direction, visions, goals, and strategies.
For anyone still confused about the difference of visions and goals, I have a session to explain the pyramid of goal setting in the yearly mastermind — business stream.
What’s involved in this stage:
- Define Your Vision: Clarify what you want your business to look like in the future. What problems will you solve, and what value will you provide?
- Set Your Goals: Income goal, client goal, impact goal
- Develop a Business Model: Identify how you’ll generate revenue, acquire customers, and deliver value.
- Create a Marketing Plan: Determine how you’ll reach your target audience and build brand awareness.
This planning phase is crucial for aligning your efforts and ensuring that every move you make is strategic and purposeful.
If you don’t have a clear plan, you don’t know if you’re taking the right step because there’s no clear direction.
Could end up going in circles.
Stage 2: Start
Key goal in this stage is to find Your First 100 clients.
What I also called “The Cold Start Challenge”.
Once you have your plan in place, it’s time to take the leap and find your first 100 clients.
This can be the most challenging phase, as you’re starting from scratch.
If you haven’t got 100 clients yet, you’re still in stage 2.
What’s involved in this stage:
- Identify Your Ideal Customer: Understand who your most valuable customers are and what motivates them.
- Building your tribe: connect with people online or offline or both to build relationships.
- Offer Incentives: Provide discounts, free trials, or value-added services to encourage initial sign-ups.
- Utilize Cold Outreach (optional — probably not for introverts): Use tactics like cold emailing and direct messaging to reach potential clients.
Securing your first 100 clients is about proving the viability of your business and building a foundation of customer testimonials and case studies that you can use to attract more clients.
Stage 3: Upgrade
Key goal in this stage is to Elevate Your Offerings.
With a base of clients, it’s time to upgrade your offerings to attract higher-value clients and increase your average transaction value.
What’s involved in this stage:
- Develop Premium Products or Services: Create offerings that provide more value and are priced accordingly.
- Refine Your Value Proposition: Clearly communicate the benefits of your premium offerings and why they’re worth the investment.
- Target High-Value Clients: Focus your marketing efforts on the clients who are most likely to purchase Moon delivery to Your High-Value Clients: Ensure that your client service is exceptional to retain high-value clients and encourage referrals.
Upgrading your program is about demonstrating your ability to deliver exceptional value, which in turn justifies higher prices and attracts more lucrative clients.
This builds the foundation for scale of the business.
Stage 4: Expand
Key goal in this stage is to Scale Up.
Now that you have a proven model and high-value clients, it’s time to expand your reach and acquire 1000 paid clients.
What’s involved in this stage:
- Build a Private Traffic System: Develop a system for consistently generating leads, such as email marketing, content marketing, or paid advertising.
- Optimize Your Conversion Funnel: Ensure that your website and sales process are optimized to convert visitors into paying clients.
- Leverage Customer Testimonials: Use the success stories from your existing clients to attract new ones.
- Build Automation for Delivery (where possible): Develop a system for consistently delivering, even when you’re sick or unavailable somehow.
Expanding your client base to 1000 paid clients is about scaling your marketing and delivery and refining your sales process to maximize conversions.
Stage 5: Expand Influence
Key goal in this stage is to Become an Industry Leader in your chosen realm.
With a strong foundation of 1000 clients, the next step is to expand your influence and aim for $1 million in annual revenue (or perhaps you have already achieved it for the 1000 paid clients LOL).
What’s involved in this stage:
- Scale Your Marketing: Invest in broader marketing campaigns and explore new channels to reach a larger audience. Now you’re ready to pay for ads.
- Partner with Influencers: Collaborate with industry influencers to extend your reach and credibility.
- Develop a Loyal Community: Build a community around your brand where clients can engage with you and each other.
- Expand Your Product Suite: Expand the product suite that caters to a different group of clients willing to pay for premium access.
Expanding your influence is about becoming a recognized authority in your industry, which attracts a larger audience and higher revenue.
Stage 6: Plan Again for Second Growth
Key goal in this stage is to Achieve Sustainable Growth
Once you’ve reached the million-dollar milestone, it’s time to plan for sustained growth and scale to new heights.
What’s involved in this stage:
- Reassess Your Business Model: Look for opportunities to innovate and improve your offerings.
- Diversify Your Revenue Streams: Explore new products, services, or business models to generate additional income.
- Invest in Technology / Team: Use technology / team to streamline operations and improve customer experience.
- Develop a Growth-Focused Culture: Foster a culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Planning for second growth is about ensuring that your business remains agile, innovative, and prepared to capitalize on new opportunities.
Although I outline all the steps here like it’s a step-by step,
Building a 6 fig business is not a linear path.
But it definitely requires a strategic plan and a commitment to executing each step with precision, that’s where the yearly mastermind — business stream comes in.
I simplify things for you instead of overwhelming you with hundreds of hours of video / ppt.

Anyhow, this 6-step blueprint provides a reference roadmap for navigating the complexities of business growth and setting your business on a trajectory towards success and sustainable growth.
