17 Ways to Work Smarter, Not Harder
The age-old adage “work smarter, not harder” is easier said than done.
As an entrepreneur and a lover of working minimal and getting desired results, I’ve spent years exploring ways to maximize productivity without sacrificing quality or personal well-being.
In this blog post, I’ll share my personal journey and 17 strategies that have helped me work smarter, not harder.

Like many, I started my entrepreneurial journey with a relentless work ethic.
I used to believe that the more hours I put in, the more successful I would be.
But soon, I found myself in a cycle of overwork and burnout, struggling to maintain the quality of my work and my personal life.
I remember the late nights spent poring over spreadsheets, the weekends lost to endless meetings or creating contents, and the constant feeling of being overwhelmed.
It was during one of these late nights that I had a realization: there had to be a better way.
Here’re my path to Smarter Work:
- Set Clear Goals
The first step in working smarter is setting clear, just out of reach goals.
This helps focus your efforts and measure progress.
I started by defining my annual goals and breaking them down into quarterly and monthly objectives following Epic 12 execution system. This allowed me to prioritize tasks and allocate resources more effectively.
2. Prioritize Tasks
To-do lists are NOT good enough because not every tasks are created the same.
Prioritize your tasks based on their impact and importance.
Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize tasks into four quadrants: urgent and important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and neither urgent nor important.
By focusing on the tasks that truly mattered with the help of Epic 12 execution system, I was able to reduce stress and increase productivity….a lot.
3. Automate
Automation is a game-changer for reducing manual work and freeing up time for more strategic activities.
I implemented an automated email, automated delivery system that not only saved me hours each week but also reduced errors.
4. Delegate Wisely
Delegation is crucial for scaling your efforts and allowing you to focus on what you do best.
I learned to delegate tasks that others could do more efficiently, freeing up my time for strategic planning and creation with Epic 12 execution system, which brings me more joy too.
5. Use Technology

I started using project management tools like Trello and Asana, which helped me keep track of tasks and deadlines more effectively, but then I realised that I use juggling between multiple software and tools.

I found that having a set morning routine and a consistent work schedule helped me stay focused and productive with Epic 12 execution system (without working all the hours).

I made it a point to attend webinars and read books, which often provided insights into more efficient ways of working.
Sometimes I learn more, sometimes less, but you never know when you’ll need it.
10. Maintain Work-Life Balance
A healthy work-life balance is crucial for long-term productivity and well-being.
I started setting boundaries for my work hours with Epic 12 execution system and made time for hobbies and family, which significantly improved my overall happiness and work performance.

I organize my digital files and physical workspace on Notion, which made finding information and staying on top of tasks much easier.
14. Manage Energy, Not Just Time
Understanding your energy patterns can help you schedule tasks more effectively.
I discovered that I was most productive in the mornings, so I started scheduling my most challenging tasks for that time.
15. Embrace Flexibility
Being flexible in your approach can help you adapt to changes and manage unexpected tasks more effectively.
I learned to be more adaptable in my work schedule, which allowed me to handle unexpected projects without disrupting my overall workflow.
In fact, I have buffer blocks in my calendar which gives me more flexibility implementing Epic 12 execution system.

I started weekly reflection sessions to assess my progress using Epic 12 execution system and make necessary adjustments to my work strategies.

I made a commitment to regular exercise, a healthy diet, and adequate sleep (usually 8 hours a day), which significantly improved my energy levels and focus.
